WHY GIVE THROUGH ICF

To ensure that your charitable gifts are
wisely invested and help catalyze the highest
possible return on your social investment, ICF offers:

Due Diligence:

ICF carries out extensive research to bring you potential grantees that are legally viable, programmatically effective, and financially stable institutions. ICF’s program staff check all legal grantee documentation of our grantees to ensure that they comply with U.S. tax regulations for international giving; ICF also performs periodic site visits to assess the progress of our grants and nonprofit grantees.

Financial Accountability:

When approving a donor-advised grant, ICF reviews every project budget and financial report, requests receipts for materials and services that were provided for each project and follows up on any discrepancies in financial reporting.

Tax Deductibility:

ICF provides a tax-deductible vehicle for international grantmaking for individual donors, family foundations, corporations and other private foundations. ICF also offers Mexican nationals with U.S. sourced income and/or residency opportunities to give back to their homeland.

Programmatic Expertise:

ICF thoroughly evaluates each proposal as it arrives. We carry out interviews, suggest partnerships that strengthen the project/program, and assist our donors in determining how to measure the results of each grant in question. With previous grantees, we review past proposals and reports to ensure programmatic continuity. Furthermore, throughout the life of a grant, ICF investigates if our grantees are making an impact in the region through site visits, email correspondence, phone interviews, and by checking with our extensive regional network of civic, governmental, and community leaders.

Cost Effectiveness:

ICF provides cost-effective, value-added administrative services for donors wishing to make international grants. Our fees are competitive with comparable intermediary institutions and we offer the best pricing and overall value for donors interested in grantmaking in Baja California.

Leveraged Funding:

ICF continually explores ways to leverage donor's charitable gifts with other like-minded donors and third party funders to maximize the overall impact of our grantmaking in the communities we serve.

Community Knowledge:

Given ICF’s grantmaking focus in Baja California, our staff is in regular contact with community based civic leaders and nonprofit organizations to keep apprised of emerging issues and needs. ICF also continues to invest in on-going research to provide our donors with the best available and timely information to make informed grantmaking decisions. Across Mexico and beyond, ICF is strengthening its relationship with local community foundations and other leading nonprofit organizations to better assist our donors with the support tools necessary to address their philanthropic needs.

ICF is here to serve you.
To ensure that you are 100% satisfied with our grantmaking service, ICF guarantees:

Transparency: ICF’s financial and grantmaking procedures are transparent.

Accountability: Grants are approved by ICF’s Board of Governors to ensure oversight at the highest level.
