My first project was studying modern
Chinese drama (huaju) with the Beijing People's Art Theater; July
1987 to January 1988. The second project was exploring the remote
minority regions of Yunnan, in particular that of a matrilineal
culture called the Mosuo, combined with meeting and living with
my recently born daughter's Bai (a mostly Sinocized ethnic minority)
relatives; June to December 1995. |
