Ways to Give to Non-U.S. Charities via Friends of Funds

Besides establishing a donor advised fund at the International Community Foundation, there are various ways to give for individuals to support your favorite non-U.S. charity by making a contribution to the organization's friends of fund at the foundation. These options include:
- Send a Check by Mail
Send a check made out to the International Community Foundation. Include the name of the non-U.S. charity which you wish to support in the memo line of your check. NOTE: the nonprofit in question must have a friends of fund at our foundation (See list of eligible nonprofits: http://www.icfexchange.org/donateonline.php )

There are several ways to support a non-U.S. charity through planned giving. The simplest way is by making a bequest to the friends of fund at the International Community Foundation for your favorite non-U.S. charity. See below for suggested legal language for inclusion in your bequest.
While your attorney is responsible for the legal aspects of your estate planning, the International Community Foundation is pleased to provide the following information as a courtesy to attorneys and their clients to facilitate bequests and trusts to benefit those charities in Mexico and Latin America that maintain agency/friends of funds with our foundation.
Proportional Bequest
"I give to The International Community Foundation, an amount equal to __% (__ percent) of the total value of the assets in my estate, whatever the amount shall be at the time of my death. This gift is to be added to the NAME OF FUND.”
Residuary Bequest
"I give to The International Community Foundation, all the residue and remainder of my estate. This gift is to be added to the NAME OF FUND.
Specific Bequest
"I give to The International Community Foundation, (the sum of $____ ) or (all my right, title and interest in the following described property _____________________). This gift is to be added to the NAME OF FUND.”
Contingent Bequest
"In the event that _______________ (name of wife, son, brother...) shall not survive me, then I give _______________________ (my home, my securities or any assets) to the International Community Foundation. This gift is to be added to the NAME OF FUND”.
