Why the International Community Foundation?
The International Community Foundation is more than a mechanism for giving. The foundation works as a partner and strategic advisor for donors, helping to identify where donations can have the greatest impact, guiding donors through each complex step involved in international philanthropy. The International Community Foundation makes the process easy for donors, while implementing due diligence to ensure that grants are distributed effectively and have maximum impact, all the while staying in strict compliance with U.S. laws and regulations governing charitable giving internationally.

For Grant Seekers:
A grant from the International Community Foundation sends a signal to other regional, national and international funders that your ideas, initiatives and programs are relevant to today's concerns and are administered with both professionalism and vision. The International Community Foundation has been making grants since 1990. The International Community Foundation also has a proven history of supporting fresh ideas and new and innovative cross border solutions. If you're a representative of a non-U.S. charity with a proven track record and a commitment towards accountability and transparency, the International Community Foundation can further assist you by providing your organization with fiscal sponsorship in the United States through the establishment of an designated agency or friends of fund. Today, the International Community Foundation maintains over 60 friends of funds for charities throughout Mexico and Central America.
For Civic Leaders and the Business Community in the San Diego-Baja California Region:
The International Community Foundation has emerged a proven civic leader in the San Diego-Baja California border region working with government and business leaders as well as other civic leaders to tackle several challenging trans-boundary issues in the areas of the environment, health, education and civic engagement. Recent border specific initiatives have included the foundation's pro-active efforts to address: the growing problems of tuberculosis in the California-Baja California border region; diabetes in under-served communities of Tijuana through Dulce Wireless Tijuana and nutrition education through our supporting organization, Olivewood Gardens. In recognition of the International Community Foundation's cross-border leadership, in 2010 the Foundation was the recipient of the South County Economic Development Council's Binational Leadership Award as well as the San Diego Chamber of Commerce's California-Mexico Business Center Award for Distinguished Service in the San Diego-Baja California Border Region.
