San Diego-Tijuana Cross-Border
Health & Human Services Dialogue

November 11th 2004 | 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m

On Thursday, November 11, 2004, the International Community Foundation (ICF) in collaboration with the San Diego Grantmakers and The California Endowment organized the “San Diego-Tijuana Cross Border Health & Human Services Dialogue” with the aim of better informing San Diego area funders and other health specialists and advocates about emerging cross-border issues and challenges in the San Diego-Tijuana border region.

The forum brought together top nonprofit health professionals from San Diego and Tijuana addressing critical trans-boundary issues such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, child abuse and domestic violence, pediatric health, drug and substance abuse, reproductive health and environmental and occupational health issues. The objective of the forum was to highlight current cross-border health challenges and needs, identify funding opportunities for individual donors, family foundations and corporate giving programs, and provide a space for collaborative dialogue.

On behalf of ICF, we thank all those individuals and organizations that participated in this event. Your participation helped us collectively expand collaborative efforts committed to making the border a healthier place to live.
