UN Launches Habitat Jam: Urban growth challenges of the Baja California Peninsula will be featured
As
part of the preparations for the third session of the
World Urban Forum, the Government of Canada in
partnership with UN-HABITAT is sponsoring this 72-hour
internet event called Habitat Jam. From December 1-3,
2005, the Habitat JAM will gather input from around the
world and add it to thousands of others to turn ideas
into actions for the Vancouver World Urban Forum agenda
and influence the Forum’s content.
Among
the topics to be featured at Habitat Jam is the
urbanization of the Baja California peninsula with Prof.
Carl Steinitz and Rob Faris of Harvard’s Graduate School
of Design highlighting lessons learned from
ICF-supported studies on the alternative futures of
Loreto and La Paz, BCS. This session will be held
December 1st, 2005 at 11am (PST), in both english and
spanish.
