NEW STAFF


Amy Carstensen

In an effort to expand ICF’s programmatic focus in the U.S.-Mexico border region as well as in the area of education, Amy Carstensen was recently hired as the foundation’s Program Officer. In the coming months, Amy will be leading the foundation’s efforts to implement the Las Californias Youth Fellowship Program for underprivileged but high achieving high school students from San Diego and Tijuana funded, in part, through the Rockefeller Foundation. She will also support ICF’s work in the area of environmental education including recent outreach in this area in La Paz, BCS.

A graduate of UCSD’s Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) where she was awarded the Wyman Award for outstanding leadership, Amy brings a diverse background to ICF with experience working overseas in Chile, Australia, Mexico and Czechoslovakia. Fluent in Spanish, Amy also has over 5 years experience teaching high school Spanish and English as a Second Language in Northern California. Amy was recently married in October.


Anne McEnany

Also joining ICF as a Philanthropic Advisor is Anne McEnany, who will support the foundation’s efforts to expand its Sea of Cortez Fund. Anne comes to ICF with over eleven years of experience in environmental conservation, program development, project management, fundraising, and institutional development. Previously, she was the Director of Development & Program Marketing at the Trust for Public Land and she has worked at The Nature Conservancy and Conservation International in addition to numerous consulting assignments for non-profits and businesses.

Anne has an M. S. from Tulane University in Applied International Development with a concentration and environmental planning and studied Latin American Studies at the University of Virginia for her B.A. She has traveled and Anne has traveled and worked extensively in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean region. She speaks Spanish fluently. Although a recent arrival to San Diego, Anne has quickly sought out the counties many natural treasures. She is an avid gardener, amateur birdwatcher, and lives on a sailboat in Shelter Island Harbor in San Diego.
