RESEARCH FELLOW, DR. NAOKO KADA JOINS ICF

In March, Dr. Naoko Kada, Ph.D. joined the staff of ICF as a Research Fellow where she will support the foundation’s research efforts specific to its community based needs assessment for Baja California and donor outreach to Japanese companies operating maquiladoras in Mexico. Dr. Kada will also support ICF’s expanding grantmaking initiatives in Asia. Dr Kada comes to ICF having recently been awarded her doctorate at the University of California, San Diego’s Graduate School for International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS). She is also a graduate in Latin American Studies from the University of Tokyo.

Dr. Kada’s work experience includes being the former Managing Editor of the Journal of Environment and Development; Assistant Editor of Iwanami Shoten Publishers in Tokyo, Japan and an interpreter for the NHK (Japanese Public Broadcast Association) at the 2000 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Kada is also fluent in English, Japanese, Spanish and conversant in Portuguese having lived eight months in Brazil.
