GREAT RIVERS PROJECT DONOR DIALOGUE EVENT
On
March 12th, ICF organized a special donor dialogue on
the Yunnan Great Rivers project being undertaken
by Nature Conservancy-China through the support of the
Robert and Joyce Chang Fund at ICF. The event was held
at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD)s
Graduate School for International Relations and Pacific
Studies (IR/PS) and featured Ed Norton and Ann Rauch
Norton, the husband and wife team that are spearheading
Nature Conservancys conservation and eco-tourism
efforts in the Yunnan Province region of China. Among
the highlights of the evening was a discussion and photo
exhibition by Ms. Rauch specific to the Nature Conservancys
Photo-Voice initiative that she is leading to empower
local villagers to convey the stories of their communities
through photography. Photo-Voice is an initiative made
possible through the support of the Eastman Kodak Company.
The presentation also featured a discussion by ICF Board
Member and donor Robert Chang about specific school
construction projects completed in the Yunnan Province
as well as other communities in China through the support
of ICF. Special thanks go to Robert Chang, IR/PS, The
Asian Business Association of San Diego, the Nature
Conservancy, and Karl Strauss Brewery for making this
event possible. |
