CHIHUAHUA ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE DONATIONS

ICF recently participated in a collaborative matching grants initiative with the Fundación del Empresariado Chihuahuense (FECHAC), a Mexican Foundation established by businessmen from the State of Chihuahua with a strong commitment of giving back to their community.

The ICF/FECHAC alliance has resulted in grants totaling $41,000 to six NGO’s working benefiting orphan children and/or children living in extreme poverty in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. ICF donated $20,500 through the Sempra Energy International Community Investment Fund with the remaining $20,500 in matching grant funds coming from FECHAC. Grants included: included: $6,000 to Amiga de la Obrera, A.C. to purchase software to update learning materials; $6,000 to Asilo de Niños y Casa Hogar, I.B.P. to repair plumbing; $3,000 to Casa Hogar de Niñas de Chihuahua, A.C. to purchase software for previously donated computers; $16,000 to Casas del Cuidado Diario, I.B.P. for a mini-olympics festival; $4,000 to the Instituto Down de Chihuahua, A.C. for furnishing a room for dental exams; and $6,000 to La Casa del Buen Pastor, A.C. towards five long white boards, markers, and erasers; as well as a new copier machine. As a result of the ICF/FECHAC matching grants program, ICF established the Chihuahua Fund where every dollar deposited to the fund will be matched by FECHAC on a 1:1 basis.
