welcomes Drs. Nancy Marlin and Irma Gigli.
Dr. Nancy Marlin is the Provost and Vice President for
Academic Affairs at San Diego State University. She
serves on the Planned Parenthood of San Diego and Riverside
Counties Board of Directors, on the Scripps Employer
Advisory Board, on the California Western School of
Law Board of Directors, and of the Board of Advisor,
California PBS Program "California Connected."
Dr. Marlin received her Ph.D. on Experimental Psychology
form The City University of New York.
A native of Argentina, Dr. Gigli is a Professor of Medicine
and Dermatology and Vice Chair for Research in the Department
of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas-Houston
(UT-Houston). She started her career working on leprosy
and is a leading authority on the subject having worked
in Africa, Asia and Latin America on the issue. Dr.
Gigli is currently the Walter & Mary Mischer Professor
in Molecular Medicine & Associate Director of the
Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of
Human Diseases. In addition, she directs the Research
Center for Immunology & Autoimmune Diseases at the
Institute of Molecular Medicine, UT-Houston.
She has served as President of the Society of Investigative
Dermatology and on the Council of several NIH institutes
and advisory committees. She is on the board of the
Pew Charitable and has served on a number of national
and international committees dealing with education
and health in the United States and third world countries.
Currently Dr. Gigli lives in Houston and La Jolla. |
