The
International Community Foundation (ICF)
is pleased to announce its 15th anniversary
annual gala. The event will be held on Saturday,
May 14, 2005, beginning at 7:00 pm at the
San Diego Sheraton Hotel and Marina-East
Tower on Harbor Island.
This special event will feature a VIP reception,
Silent Auction, Dinner, Award Ceremony,
and Dancing to Rico Tumbao, a well-known
band that frequents Café Sevilla
in San Diego. ICF is recognizing three outstanding
award winners this year:
Grantee of the Year: Niños
de Capitán, A.C. for their successful
construction of a day care facility and
health clinic in Los Cabos, Baja California
Sur
Donor of the Year: Sempra
Energy for their long-term commitment to
nonprofit organizations in the U.S.-Mexico
border region
Collaborative Grantmaking Award:
the International Community Foundation’s
UN Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund, which has
currently raised almost $800,000 toward
disaster relief in South Asia with major
contributions from five community foundations
in the U.S. and Mexico, three local businesses,
and hundreds of students, families, and
individuals.
Ticket prices begin at $125 per person,
with sponsorship and underwriting opportunities
available. Proceeds from the evening will
benefit ICF’s “Sustainable Communities
Fund,” which supports the foundation’s
programmatic work throughout Baja California,
Mexico and beyond.

Mimí,
host of the Mexican morning show, “Cada
Mañana” (Every Morning)
from TV Azteca will be joining us as
the Master of Ceremonies for ICF’s
15th Anniversary Gala. Prior to coming
to TV Azteca, Mimí’ became
popular across Mexico as a pop singer
with the trio known as “FLANS”. |
