Fay Crevoshay named Director of Communications of the International Community Foundation

San Diego, CA (August 16, 2001) --The International Community Foundation (ICF) has announced that Fay Crevoshay was named Communications Director. Crevoshay was until recently the Communications Director for PriceSmart, Inc. where she was responsible for corporate, and member communications for the company's operations in Central America, the Caribbean, as well as the Philippines.

Crevoshay previously worked as an international media relations' specialist and was the U.S.A. correspondent for Mexico's highly regarded financial daily, "El Financiero". She appeared weekly as a commentator on San Diego's KPBS radio. Crevoshay also held several senior level positions at the Mexican Federal Government.

In her new position Crevoshay will develop and implement innovative communications strategies to inform, educate, and create the excitement and public opinion that will encourage widespread participation in IFC's projects and in philanthropy in general."

"Fay's in-depth experience in international media relations coupled with her in depth knowledge of Mexico and Latin America makes her a great addition to the ICF team," noted Richard Kiy, new President & CEO of the International Community Foundation. "Given that U.S. grantmaking internationally remains quite limited," Kiy added, "ICF needs to constantly inform, educate, and create greater awareness of the need to promote philanthropy in needy communities abroad, particularly in the Americas and Asia where we are focused.

Crevoshay earned degrees in economics and political science from universities in Mexico, Israel, and Canada; she came to San Diego as a fellow at the University of California San Diego, San Diego Center for U.S.- Mexican Studies.
