Amy Carstensen - Senior Program Officer  

In an effort to expand educational programmatic focus and international giving, Amy Carstensen was hired as the foundation’s Senior Program Officer. Amy is responsible for all the due diligence and oversight of International Community Foundation's grantmaking. She works with donors and grantees to ensure the higest level of transparency and helping to improve the grantmaking process. From 2002-2004, Amy was the program coordinator for the Las Californias Fellowship Program at International Community Foundation for high achieving Latino high school students from San Diego and Tijuana.

A graduate of UCSD’s Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) where she was awarded the Wyman Award for outstanding leadership, Amy brings a diverse background to International Community Foundation with experience working in Chile, Mexico and Czechoslovakia. She was a Fulbright teaching scholar in Santiago, Chile from 1998-1999. Fluent in Spanish, Amy also has over 5 years experience teaching high school Spanish and English as a Second Language in Red Bluff, California.
